Can I recycle my R+Co products?Updated 6 months ago
All of our shampoo/conditioner/styling bottles and caps are 100% recyclable.
With respect to the carbon footprint it takes 1/2 half of the energy to produce a bottle made of recycled plastic (PE for bottles and PP closures/caps) verses new ‘virgin’ resin. Aerosol cans are made of either aluminum or steel, both of which are high-value metals that can be infinitely recycled into new metal products.
In order to recycle, you should use 100% of the product inside. Even something nonhazardous like whipped cream, if it’s left inside in can, recycling municipalities WON’T accept these items.
Aerosol that’s flammable – utilizes the same process. Even more important is to completely evacuate what’s inside so use that product!
Notes:
If the can is half full, (or even ‘close’ to being empty), you will have to dispose of the product as household hazardous waste.
Our aerosol’s cans come with a plastic cap, these should be removed and recycled separately, (PP recycling code #5)
Most important, check with your local recycler.
Large cities accept empty cans some smaller midsized cities not so much.
